Died peacefully in North Cotswold Hospital Morteton on the 14th July, aged 97. She was born in Cairo, Egypt, the daughter of the late Mary and Morden Wright, both eminent doctors and missionaries in the Sudan. She studied at Ashford School in Kent and moved to Chipping Campden from where she worked at the Golden Cockerel Tearoom - baking such legendary delights as chocolate cake, scones and shortbread - later reproducing these tasty wonders for Dick Smiths Farm shop,Hidcote Garden Tea Shop and The Bantam Tea Rooms. Married in 1950 to Higford Keyte (Hig). They had five sons: Michael, John, David, Graham and Robert (Sadly her first born Michael passed away on 22nd September 2018). Patta was an active, much loved and respected member of the local community, regularly attending local events and walking a mile each day around the town with the aid of a ‘pusher’, always immaculately ‘tuned out’. She will be a huge loss to the community and also to her remaining sons - John, David, Graham and Robert. The Funeral will be at St James Church Chipping Campden on August 12th at 11:00am Any donations gratefully received will be passed on to the RNLI - a charity close to her heart these may be left in the retiring collection at the service or made by clicking the 'Donate' button below.
