To Mandy and Family Sharing my deepest condolences. Glen was a true gentleman, generous with his time and stories. I count myself very lucky to have met and had the opportunity to get to know him even just a little. Much love Lottie Oxendale (Rhodes Trust previous employee)

Mrs Charlotte Oxendale

Glen was a true star - a wonderful colleague and friend. I will miss him very much indeed. I send all his family and friends my deepest condolences at this very sad time. I am so sorry that in the end I cannot practically make the funeral service as I need to be in Yorkshire tomorrow with my Mum and Dad. Thinking of you all and Glen. Very best wishes, Graham Earles

Mr Charles Graham Earles

It was a privilege to work with you and for you during your time at Slaughters. Your ability to dictate a (very) lengthy note and only change a few words was legendary. You taught me a lot and improved me as a professional, as you did to everyone who worked with you. Your energy and enthusiasm for life will never be forgotten. Sincere best wishes, Michelle Frost

Mrs Michelle Frost

Extremely sorry to hear of Glen's passing. I do have to admit though that in those first days at Slaughter and May 40 years ago Glen was frightening to the new trainees, but at the same time clearly a lawyer and a man to be respected. As the years went by, the fear faded and Glen became a mentor, a supporter and eventually I was able to call him my partner. There are few that implant themselves on someone's careers and life as Glen did mine and many others. Rest in peace Glen.

Mr Neil Hyman

Cherished memories of an exceptional brother, brother in law and Uncle. Glen was an inspirational gentleman, his kindness and integrity touched all who knew him. Glen was an outstanding brother to Ian following his severe brain injury, his support was invaluable. Glen and Ian both had a great love of Scotland and conquered many mountains together. May Glen rest in peace, he will be deeply missed. Stephanie, Glen and Alastair

Mrs Stephanie James

Magnificent man. Great and hard working lawyer. Keen walker, hill walker, and climber and lover of Scotland. Enthusiastic developer of Wood House and very valued good friend. Tragic.

As a former partner of Glen's at Slaughter and May, I was extremely sad to hear of his untimely death. He was a fantastic lawyer, a great role model and always very good fun. I am sorry not to be able to attend the funeral, but pass on my condolences to all his family and friends.

Mr Andrew Balfour

Such a legend. His contribution to people's lives through his friendship and charity work will ensure he lives on in our minds.

Glen was a very fine person and it was great getting to know him at recent New College reunions, reminiscing about good times at Oxford. He will be sorely missed.

Glen was a wonderful man. So privileged to have been his friend at New College and to have been at several reunions with him in recent years. A special memory is meeting him and his friend in Canterbury at the end of their pilgrimage on the North Downs Way and blessing them in the Cathedral precincts. May Glen rest in peace. Prayers for Mandy and all the family. Brian x
