Banbury Animal Rescue And Kindness Service
In 1986, a group of like-minded folks banded together with the mission to help animals in the Banbury area in sore need of a second chance at life and love. So Banbury Animal Rescue and Kindness Service (BARKS) was born and registered as a charity in 1997, operating across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
Our mission is straightforward. It’s our bedrock and it’s incredibly rewarding:

We rescue stray or unwanted cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and small furries.

We have suspended puppy fostering and rehoming due to lack of funding

We give them whatever medical care they need to be rehabilitated and re-homed.

We find loving homes where they can have a second chance at a full and happy life.

We follow a ‘no euthanasia policy’. Senior and disabled animals are lovingly cared for and we only ever contemplate euthanasia on veterinary advice, as a last resort.

Senior, disabled or sickly animals that have little chance of finding a new adoptive home are fostered out on a permanent basis, gaining forever homes under Barks care
