Banbury Animal Rescue And Kindness Service

In 1986, a group of like-minded folks banded together with the mission to help animals in the Banbury area in sore need of a second chance at life and love. So Banbury Animal Rescue and Kindness Service (BARKS) was born and registered as a charity in 1997, operating across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

Our mission is straightforward. It’s our bedrock and it’s incredibly rewarding:

  • We rescue stray or unwanted cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and small furries.

  • We have suspended puppy fostering and rehoming due to lack of funding

  • We give them whatever medical care they need to be rehabilitated and re-homed.

  • We find loving homes where they can have a second chance at a full and happy life.

  • We follow a ‘no euthanasia policy’. Senior and disabled animals are lovingly cared for and we only ever contemplate euthanasia on veterinary advice, as a last resort.

  • Senior, disabled or sickly animals that have little chance of finding a new adoptive home are fostered out on a permanent basis, gaining forever homes under Barks care
