Shipston Home Nursing

Your ‘Hospice at Home’ for patients and their families facing incurable illnesses

We are a local Charity founded in 1997 with the purpose of caring for patients with illnesses which do not respond to curative treatment and who wish to be nursed at home.  Our Nursing Services are managed through a team of Registered General Nurses specialising in palliative care supported by Health Care Assistants. We care for the patient and their family, in their own homes throughout the period of their illness.

Our service covers Shipston, Wellesbourne, Kineton and the surrounding villages and  is completely free of charge.

We depend on the ongoing generosity of our supporters and donors to ensure that this free community service, continues to provide high quality nursing care to families facing terminal illness, with the required expertise and support.

We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support we receive from the community we serve.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution

RABI – the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution – is farming’s oldest and largest charity. We’ve been serving the farming community since 1860.

We offer financial support, practical care and guidance to farming people of all ages, including farmers, farmworkers and dependants.

Although a lot of the help we provide is financial, we do much more than send out cheques in the post. We strive to build personal relationships and will tailor our support to suit you. If we can’t directly provide what you need, we’ll do our best to liaise with other organisations and agencies on your behalf.

We’re here for the small things as well as the big and treat every application for support on its own merits, working with compassion and discretion.

It’s our vision that no member of the farming community should ever have to face adversity alone.

To find out more about what we can do for you please call our Freephone helpline 0808 281 9490. You’ll speak to a friendly member of the team in our Oxford office and your call will be 100% confidential.

Messages of condolence

I loved Peter's stories. He kept me entertained when in SI. But it's often forgotten how good he was at his job. He was very pragmatic and got fabulous results. He'll be massively missed.

Mr Craig Hinks

Mrs Caryn Wright

Mrs Helen Dixon

Deepest sympathy to Kane family on sad passing of Peter Gerard. We have great memories of his visits to Belmullet.

Mr Padraig, Eamonn, Sheila Reilly

I sat opposite Peter in the Solihull office in my very first role. Peter would come in with a big smile on his face every morning, and never fail to make everyone laugh with his jokes and various random facts about farming and lambing throughout the day. Peter helped me practice for an interview back in 2016, which gave me the opportunity to move to London to join an Accountancy training scheme, and become a qualified accountant. I am really sad to hear about Peter's passing, and pray that Peter's family and friends find the strength to get through this difficult time. Peter will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. xXx
