St. Mary's Church, Cubbington
The church is a Grade One listed Norman building constructed from sandstone and dates from the early 12th century. The church building seats 200/230 people on mainly fixed wooden pews.
In 1980 major restoration work was carried out costing over £250,000. This was paid for by significant additional giving from the congregation, as well as grants from English Heritage and local charities.
The Churchyard is maintained by a dedicated band of volunteer workers who turn up every Monday morning, come rain or shine. The work included is grass cutting, strimming, pruning, path edging and cleaning. Removal of dead flowers from graves and Garden of Remembrance. General maintenance of equipment is carried out. Our band of workers enjoy the fellowship of an Annual Lunch and also the usual Monday morning coffee break.
