Shipston First Responders

We are a volunteer group which responds to 999 calls in partnership with West Midlands Ambulance Service. The idea being that a First Responder can arrive on scene and begin immediate treatment if necessary until a conventional ambulance service vehicle arrives.

Shipston First Responders help West Midlands Ambulance Service get trained, experienced care to a patient very rapidly. Shipston First Responders volunteers are based in and around the town and can usually respond to an emergency call within 5 minutes which can be vital considering the town’s rural location.

The team is often first on the scene, and has saved lives in cardiac arrest situations. The team aims to provide a service 24 hours, 7 days a week and is always looking for more volunteers.

SFR is funded entirely from donations and grants. All of the people delivering this vital service are volunteers, helping others in their own time, and at their own cost.

Mrs Liz Bird

We'll always remember Uncle Bill so fondly as a kind and gentle presence throughout our lives. We are so lucky and grateful to have such fond memories of lovely Uncle Bill, super Aunty Sue and our precious mum and dad x The Fab Four! In loving memory and with much Lou and Rich xx ❤️

Mrs Louise Thomas

I will always remember Bill with huge fondness. He was so warm and good humoured and would do anything for anyone. My teenage years would have been very different without Bill's 24hr taxi service and watching him rolling on the floor with laughter as he watched the wrestling on a Saturday morning. I always felt he had such quiet wisdom and constantly showed his love for his family in so many practical ways. My thoughts and love are with Heidi and Jo, and Will and Bob. He will be so greatly missed. Love and huge condolences from Liz, John and the boys
